 After receiving the highest grade in his eighth-grade creative writing class, Ken set aside writing for nearly fifty years to pursue other interests. His saxophone and involvement in the high school marching band were traded in for an electric guitar and rock and roll. 

 The guitar surrendered to an M-16 when he enlisted in the US Army in 1968, and the M-16 gave way to the Bible when he and his wife Randi committed themselves to Jesus Christ while Ken served as a Military Policeman in Berchtesgaden Germany.

After returning  home, they found the traditional protestant churches unwelcoming to two converted hippies who believed “1st century Christianity could be restored in the present time.” Undeterred, they planted their first church in 1972 in Avon Lake, Ohio, and spent the next forty years in Christian ministry

While visiting fellow minister and best friend, Bob Mertes,  the idea for a three book series based on Rom 8: 18-24, (For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.) was born.

In 2018 book one of that series: Eden Quest, Before the Beginning was self-published, followed by book two, Eden Quest, The Broken Tower in 2019

On November 20, 2020, Bob Mertes died after battling Covid 19. Unable to finish the Eden Quest series at that time, but having fallen in love with writing again, Ken turned his attention to The Timeless Apostle.

In August of 2022 The Timeless Apostle was selected for publication  by Relevant Publishers LLC, and is available now!!

Since his retirement in 2018 Ken and his wife Randi have been enjoying life together in North Carolina where Ken is working on his forth novel, Nataya, Nephilim Princess.
